ECU REMAPPING SERVICES

Pro-Tec Performance Tuning continue to develop a range of performance ECU services, including ECU Tuning ,ECU programming and ECU Mapping / ECU Re-mapping. We are able offer performance ECU upgrades for nearly all cars, with multiple performance tuning approaches, including OBD, flash programs, BDM re-maps, piggy back units, ECU chip tuning and live ECU re-mapping.

Vehicles are rolling road tested and tuned to release maximum bhp, torque and performance. The work includes before and after dynamometer (rolling road) runs and print outs demonstrating exactly what as been achieved from the engine tuning we have carried out.

There are many myths about how ECU work is carried out, but in fact its not rocket science and once you remove the smoke and mirrors its quite straight forward.

There are a number of different ways to produce more BHP and torque from your Engine ECU including, but not limited to.

Chip replacement (ECU chipping / car chipping)

Flash reprogramming (Super Chips, Star chips etc)

Piggy back ECU modules.

At Pro-Tec Performance the first thing we do is check your car over and carry out a diagnostic check and power test on our rolling road to understand how it is currently running. Only then can we re-map your ECU in the best method to suit you and your car. After the ECU has been upgraded, your vehicle is then re-run on the rolling road to check power and performance levels, leaving you with a full print out of both before and after read outs and most importantly no doubt exactly what has been achieved and how it was done from your ECU upgrade.

Examples of power increase that can be achieved are as follows:

Petrol non turbo vehicles - average increase 10/12bhp & increase in engine response.
( Note: with normally asparated [non turbo engines] it very difficult to acheive any worthwhile increase in power output,we prefer to call this method of tuning,"drivability chipping,this can help to remove accelaration flat spots and assist a quicker engine response)

Petrol turbo vehicles – average increase 30/35bhp + 20% increase in torque.

Turbo Diesel vehicles average increase 35/40bhp + 20% increase in torque

NOTE: all performance increase figures are based on averages,all car engines are different,some will produce less of an increase, many produce much more, plus we often see a marked improvment in fuel economy
