Pro-Tec Performance was formed in 1991 by father and son, Allan & Mark Durham after they returned to the United Kingdom from South Africa.

Allan has worked in the Motorsport industry since the 1970's working as a rally technician with Audi Sport in the days of the GPB Quattro before moving on to VW South Africa. Mark initially worked for Bilstein Suspension in South Africa before joining his father at VW where he progressed from technician to work's driver, racing and rallying VW Golf's.

The pair returned to the UK in 1991 and set-up Pro-Tec, choosing to initially specialise in Ford performance cars before moving on to Vauxhall's after Mark bought an ex-Atkinson Motorsport 1300 GPA Nova in 1994.

The next three years saw the team enjoy many class wins and in 1997 the decision was taken to purchase a GPA 1600 Nova which started a series of 'Giant Killing' results that included many national class wins and a overall win.

Following on from the Nova the team prepared a full GpA kit spec 1600 Corsa and enjoyed many class wins and top 10 overall results.

Mark took over the ownership of the company in 2009 when his father Allan decided it was time for a younger management outlook take the company forward

The knowledge the company has gained from rallying over the many years allows Pro-Tec to give competitors our best advice and offer quality parts that allows them to achieve the competitive edge.

The team have also Built and run a GpN Mitsubishi EVO IX for 2011 British Champion & 3 times Scottish Rally Champion David Bogie & BTRDA front runner Tom Naughton in a similar Evo IX

The Company have also expanded it's parts operation to include a wide selection of performance and competition parts for these exciting vehicles.

Also ongoing is the continued development by the Pro-Tec technicians in engine electronic re-mapping services to deliver the best performance from a wide selection of performance vehicles
